Alberto Taulé Viñas

Alberto Taulé Viñas was a Catalan Roman Catholic priest and musician whose sacred music served Spanish-speaking congregations in the period of liturgical renewal after the Second Vatican Council. He composed the tune commonly identified as TAULÉ for his 1972 Spanish hymn Toda la Tierra. The melody’s folk-like directness and congregational accessibility helped the hymn travel beyond its original setting. Later English-language hymnals often print the tune with a harmonization by Skinner Chávez-Melo.
