Alexei Fyodorovich Lvov

Alexei Fyodorovich Lvov was a Russian composer, violinist, and conductor best known for composing the melody later used as the Russian imperial anthem. His musical work also entered Christian hymnody through the tune LVOV, which has been adapted for congregational singing. Lvov served as director of the Imperial Chapel in Saint Petersburg and contributed significantly to Russian sacred music. His melody provides a dignified and majestic setting for hymns of praise and triumph.
