Caspar Ulenberg

Caspar Ulenberg was a German Roman Catholic theologian, translator, and hymn writer active during the period following the Reformation. Born in Westphalia Germany, he initially became associated with Protestant theology before returning to the Roman Catholic Church. Ulenberg later served as a priest and theologian while contributing to biblical translation and devotional literature. He is known for translating the Bible into German and for writing hymn texts used in Catholic worship. One hymn attributed to him is Jesus My Lord My God My All which expresses deep devotion to Christ and reverence for the sacrament. His writings reflected the spiritual renewal of the Catholic Church during the Counter Reformation. Ulenberg work contributed to the development of German Catholic hymnody and devotional life during a time of significant religious change.
