Charles Davis Tillman

Charles Davis Tillman was an American evangelist, song leader, music publisher, and gospel song compiler. He is associated with the 1889 adaptation and publication of 'Tis the Old Time Religion from an African-American spiritual source. His work helped bring several songs from revival, camp-meeting, and folk traditions into printed gospel song use.
