Biography

Daniel A. De Marbelle, also known as Dion De Marbelle, was a nineteenth-century entertainer, bandleader, actor, songwriter, and gospel song writer active in the United States. He is best known for writing both the words and music of When They Ring the Golden Bells, first published in 1887. His song became widely known in gospel, revival, and later country and bluegrass traditions.
