Dimitri S. Bortniansky

Dimitri Bortniansky was a Ukrainian-born composer and director of the Imperial Chapel Choir in Saint Petersburg. His sacred choral writing influenced later hymn tune usage in Western hymnals. The tune ST. PETERSBURG is commonly attributed to him.
