Biography

E. Harold Geer was an American church musician, editor, and organist associated with twentieth-century congregational hymnody. He edited “Hymnal for Colleges and Schools,” published by Yale University in 1956. Hymnal records identify Geer as the adapter who shaped Ralph Vaughan Williams’s THE CALL from “Five Mystical Songs” for congregational hymn singing.
