Edith Margaret Gellibrand Reed was an English translator and hymn writer who helped introduce European carols into English speaking churches. Her translation of the Polish carol Infant Holy, Infant Lowly brought a beloved Eastern European Christmas song to wider Christian worship. Her work reflects a sensitivity to both poetic expression and theological meaning.
