Elizabeth Ann Porter Head

Elizabeth Ann Porter Head, commonly known as Bessie Porter Head, was an English Anglican hymn writer and social reformer. She was deeply involved in Christian mission work and founded the Friends of the Poor mission in London. Her hymn O Breath of Life reflects her concern for spiritual renewal and the revitalization of the church.
