Ernst Wilhelm Olson

Ernst Wilhelm Olson was a Swedish American Lutheran pastor, historian, translator, and hymnologist who helped introduce Scandinavian hymns to English speaking congregations. He served as a leader within the Augustana Lutheran tradition and worked extensively in church publishing. Olson translated many Swedish hymns including Children of the Heavenly Father allowing them to reach a broader global audience. His work strengthened the connection between Scandinavian and American Lutheran hymnody.
