Henry Baker

Henry Baker was an English civil engineer and amateur musician born at Nuneham, Oxfordshire. Hymnary distinguishes him from Sir Henry Williams Baker and identifies him as the composer of the tune QUEBEC, also known in some sources as HESPERUS. The tune is commonly dated 1854 and has been used with several long-meter hymns.
