Ivy G. Chun

Ivy G. Chun is documented in United Methodist and Korean-English Presbyterian hymnals as one of the two English translators of Young Taik Chun’s Korean hymn “Eo Seo Doraoo.” Working with Sang E. Chun, Ivy G. Chun prepared the 1988 English translation published as “Come Back Quickly to the Lord” in The United Methodist Hymnal in 1989. The translation made the Korean hymn available for English-language congregational singing while retaining its central call to return to a gracious and welcoming Lord. Reliable hymnological sources consulted for this record do not provide enough evidence to state birth or death dates, denominational affiliation, or a broader published biography with confidence.
