John Arnold

John Arnold was an English psalmodist, compiler, and church musician associated with The Compleat Psalmodist. Hymnological sources connect later English stanza forms and tune shaping of Jesus Christ Is Risen Today with Arnold's 1749 collection. His role is best described cautiously as editor, compiler, or adapter rather than sole author of the hymn.
