Biography
John Baptiste Calkin was an English organist, choirmaster, composer, and teacher. He served in London church music posts and wrote several hymn tunes. His tune WALTHAM, first published in The Hymnary in 1872, later became one of the principal tunes associated with Longfellow's Christmas text.
