John Rosamond Johnson

John Rosamond Johnson was an American composer conductor and performer who played a significant role in early twentieth century African American musical life. He collaborated with his brother James Weldon Johnson to set Lift Every Voice and Sing to music. His work helped bring African American spiritual and cultural traditions into wider recognition.
