Jonas Myrin

Jonas Myrin is a Swedish songwriter, singer, pianist, producer, and worship musician born in Örebro, Sweden, in 1982. He moved to London as a teenager to pursue music and drama and became involved in contemporary Christian worship, including early work connected with Hillsong Church London. His career subsequently expanded across Christian worship, pop, film, and international songwriting.

Myrin has co-written worship songs including Our God and Cornerstone and has worked with artists across several genres. Capitol Christian Music Group Publishing describes him as a Grammy- and Billboard Award-winning songwriter and producer whose collaborators have included Andrea Bocelli, Céline Dion, Barbra Streisand, Lauren Daigle, Natasha Bedingfield, and John Legend. His work therefore spans both congregational worship and mainstream recording projects.

Myrin's contribution to 10,000 Reasons was foundational rather than secondary. Matt Redman has said that Myrin presented the initial chorus melody that immediately suggested a Psalm 103-based song, after which the two developed the piece rapidly. The co-write won the 2013 Grammy Award for Best Contemporary Christian Music Song, giving Myrin his first Grammy win and establishing the song as one of the defining works of his worship catalogue.
