Keith Routledge
Biography
Keith Routledge is a British songwriter, pianist, arranger, worship leader, and architect. His early musical training began as a chorister at Carlisle Cathedral, where his father served as assistant organist. Routledge subsequently became organist at a local parish church, but he also pursued visual design and won a scholarship to art college to study architecture. While at college, he and six friends formed Meet Jesus Music, an early British gospel group whose folk-and-jazz approach reflected the developing Christian music culture of the period. The group made two albums, Meet Jesus Music and Gold, while its members continued their regular professions.
Routledge wrote both the words and music of My Peace in 1975. By 1991 he was working professionally as an architect while serving as a worship leader at St John's, Hyde Park, London, in an Anglican setting that combined traditional morning worship with a freer evangelical evening service. His later musical work emphasized devotional piano and instrumental worship. Documented releases include Worship His Majesty, Give Thanks, Piano Presence, Every Day With Jesus, and other recordings in the Classical Praise and Worship Without Words traditions. Reliable public sources do not establish his birth year, death year, or personal denominational affiliation, so those details remain unset rather than inferred from the churches in which he served.
