Mark E. Hunt

Mark E. Hunt is a twentieth-century hymn writer whose documented contribution to hymnody includes two additional stanzas written in 1978 for an expanded form of Charles Wesley’s “Come, Thou Long-Expected Jesus.” Hymnal sources including the 1990 Trinity Hymnal and the 2018 Trinity Psalter Hymnal identify Hunt as the author of stanzas 2–3 in that four-stanza version and record those stanzas as copyrighted by InterVarsity Christian Fellowship.
