Mary M. Brown

Mary M. Brown was an American teacher and poet associated with Jewett City, Connecticut. Early printings of this hymn credit the words to Mary M. Brown, though later hymnals often shorten her name to Mary Brown and some secondary sources have confused her identity with another poet. She is remembered chiefly for this gospel song of willing service and missionary consecration.
