Richard Storrs Willis

Richard Storrs Willis was an American composer music critic and church musician known for his contributions to nineteenth century hymnody. He composed the tune CAROL which became the most widely used setting for It Came upon the Midnight Clear. His work helped shape American congregational music traditions.
