William True Sleeper

William True Sleeper was an American Congregationalist minister, educator, poet, and hymn writer. He studied at the University of Vermont and Andover Theological Seminary and served in ministry in New England. Hymnary identifies him as the author of 'Out of My Bondage, Sorrow and Night,' commonly known as 'Jesus, I Come.'
